Engineering Study – Naval Special Warfare Command-Building 624

Project Description

Headquarter building for Naval Amphibious Base: The mechanical portion of the project was to replace (15) Gas-Electric roof top units, (3) small split-system units and (1) heat pump rooftop unit due to of the close proximity to the ocean. The roof-top units were eroded. The new system included two 50 ton air-cooled chillers with redundant third chiller, boilers for comfort heating, chilled water and hot water pumps, air handlers and VAV boxes above ceiling. All outdoor units specified to have extra corrosion protection. The project is expected to qualify for rebate from the local Utility Company, SDG&E as a facility that replaced its old HVAC system with high efficiency HVAC system.
